Today we woke up even earlier (a real shock to me !!), at 6am, that breakfast at 6:30 and were leaving at 7. The reason was our visit to the floating market in Cho Lach, which closes at 9am already and we didn't want to be at the same time as all the tourists. It took us about 30 minutes to get there by boat (of course), and then we finally saw the floating market. It was a real one, not a touristical one, which was really nice. Anyway, people in Vietnam are so friendly !! Maybe it's just because we are tourists, but still they always smile at you, they greet you, the kids come and say "Hello !!" laughing, it's really a nice atmosphere. I found this floating market very interesting, and I was stunned how the people there live. Sometimes you really wonder how they do it, there's so much poverty, a lot more than in HCMC ... But every one always keeps on smiling, and it's a very good thing, to smile is good for the health !!
We also saw a "normal" market, and bought some little bananas ... And then we already had to take the boat back to My Tho, and it took us three hours. But the weather was finally getting better, we even had a real blue sky and could take a short sun bath (not too long because even at 10am the sun was very strong !), and arrived in My Tho just on time for lunch before going back to Ho Chi Minh.
Tonight was a special night for the children of Ho Chi Minh City (I don't know if it's in the whole of Vietnam), because they were celebrating the beginning of the Mid Autumn Festival (it officially starts on Monday 12th), and today was the Kiss Day. So in every part of the city there were some games and festivities for the children, they were parading in the streets with little lanterns in all sorts of forms and colours. And just in front of our house (there's a little square), there was a scene with some people singing to the kids and making them laugh, it was very cute, and suddenly it started to rain and we could hear them all scream and run to their houses !!
